I grew up in Utah. I’m married to Shaunese and together, we love watching movies, traveling, and being outside as often as we can. I grew up in a small family with one older brother. That means I’m the youngest person in my family. Right now, my whole family lives in Utah where they have attended UVU, BYU, and the U of U and graduated with their Associates, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees.

Teaching seems to run in my family. My mother is a BYU nursing professor, my father previously taught at Provo High School, my brother is a junior high history/computer teacher, and my grandfather was a BYU linguistics professor. We are a busy family who rarely get to spend time all together, but we find the time when we can.

When I was in college, I reflected upon the importance of a few influential teachers in my life who helped me become who I am today. Knowing that a teacher can shape a child’s understanding of the world around them, I decided I wanted to be able to be a positive influence on children’s lives. Initially, I thought I wanted to teach math in secondary education, but as I tutored various high school students I realized that some students needed a stronger educational foundation. That’s when I knew I wanted to teach elementary school, where I could help them gain a strong educational foundation and prepare them for success.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from BYU in April 2017. This year will be my first official year teaching as a licensed teacher and I am excited to share this experience with the students and scholars at Noah Webster Academy. As a student teacher, I taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade students. During my short time here at Noah Webster, I have loved working with the people and have felt welcomed as a new teacher. I hope to extend this love and welcome to the scholars at Noah Webster and to all the parents as well.
