Noah Webster Academy is dedicated to the personal and academic excellence of all students, including those with learning difficulties and English Language Learners. Our teaching strategies are designed to assist all learning styles, and are not only highly effective in teaching non-special education students but also those with disabilities. Our Special Education team is directed by Mrs. Barlow, who graduated with a degree in Special Education and holds a Utah Teaching License. She is supported by conscientious and dedicated personnel, including a speech therapist, psychologist, and occupational therapist.

Special Education staff will:

  • Perform student assessments and evaluations
  • Conduct group and/or individual remediation
  • Manage IEPs (Individual Education Plans)
  • Act as a resource for classroom teachers to help address special needs and/or accommodations in the classroom setting
  • Provide opportunities for meeting between parents, classroom teachers, and other professionals as needed

CARSON SMITH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

School districts and charter schools are required by Utah law, 53A1a-704(10), to inform parents of students with IEPs enrolled in public schools, of the availability of a scholarship to attend a private school through the Carson Smith Scholarship Program. Further information is available on the State Website: CLICK HERE

CHILD FIND NOTICE

Every child is entitled to a public education regardless of disability. Children with disabilities may go without services because families are not fully aware of their entitlement. If you know of a child, birth to age 22, who is not receiving any education services or feel that your child is in need of additional services, speak to your child’s classroom teacher or contact the Special Education Department at 801-426-6624.
