Parent Organization

When you enroll your child at Noah Webster Academy, you become a member of the Parent Organization. The PO works to help parents get involved and to foster a positive "family culture" at Noah Webster Academy. The PO President regularly meets with the school's director to discuss any parent concerns, suggestions, or other ideas.

2016-2017 Parent Organization Board

President: Brandy Barnett (bbarnett@mynwa.us)

Serves as a voting member of the Noah Webster Academy School Board and is required to attend all school board meetings and assumes any responsibilities and/or assignments associated with the school board. Responsible for oversight of committee events and tasks, maintains corporate binder, creates monthly meeting agenda, liaison between parent organization and NWA and reviews all official fliers and announcements before they are forwarded to the school. Appoints PO officers. Help create PO's annual budget. This position is a one-year term. 

President Elect: Roxanne Abernathy (roxanne.abernathy@gmail.com) 

Serves a two year term in which he/she assists president, assumes responsibility of president the following year, assumes presidents position if president resigns, attends monthly correlation meeting to facilitate communication between the faculty and the PO, helps with committee oversight and sits on the Land Trust Committee. Attends all monthly PO meetings. Help create the PO's annual budget. This position is a one-year term. 

Vice President: Kara Downing (taylorkara2001@yahoo.com)

The responsibilities of the Vice President include, but are not limited to: assisting the president and treasurer by collecting and depositing all funds for the PO; assisting in monthly PO accounts. This person also helps with committee oversight and the creation of the PO's annual budget. This board position in a one-year term. 

Secretary: Jennifer Ellingford (jellingford@gmail.com)

Appointed by the PO President. The Secretary is responsible for the PO sign-in list; keeping minutes at each PO meeting; helping to create the annual budge, sending the minutes from the board meetings to all board members for approval within one week of the board meeting. Once final approval of minutes is obtained, the secretary will deliver minutes to administration for posting on the NWA website. This position is a one-year term. 

Treasurer: Aimee Sinema (aimeesinema@gmail.com)

Appointed by the PO President. Facilitates PO money matters by writing checks for all bills, balancing the PO account monthly with the Vice President and filing yearly taxes. Prepares quarterly financial reports for the PO board meeting. Help create the PO’s annual budget. This position is a one-year term. 

2016-2017 Meeting Schedule

The Parent Organization will meet the 1st Thursday of each month (unless posted otherwise) at 8:15 am in the library. All parents are welcome to attend. Notes from each meeting will be posted on this page for those who are not able to attend. The PO meeting dates for the year are as follows:
